Council Member Trisha S. Pollard - Position 2
Trisha S. Pollard was elected to Bellaire City Council Pos. 2 in November 2015 and began serving in January 2016. She previously served on the Building & Standards Commission for the City of Bellaire for several years and as its chairman for two years, as well as the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board. Trisha's focus is the safety and security of all Bellaire residents. Representative of her efforts are the Safe Passage ordinance, enacted to protect vulnerable road users in the City of Bellaire, and having a fully-connected sidewalk network throughout town, starting with re-establishing the requirement for a sidewalk to be built at all new-home construction projects.
Trisha was appointed to a six-year term on the Board of Regents for The Texas State University System by Governor Rick Perry in March 2007. The TSUS Board of Regents oversees all the campuses of the four universities in the TSUS: Texas State University in San Marcos, Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Lamar University in Beaumont and Sul Ross State University in Alpine along with 3 smaller colleges, with combined budgets of over $1 billion and over 80,000 students. She was also appointed by Gov. Perry to a three-year term on the Texas One-Call Board in 2003.
Trisha joined the ranks of Distinguished Alumni of Sam Houston State University in 2013. She and her Bearkat husband established the Pollard Family Endowed Scholarship at SHSU, and Trisha has served on the Board of Directors of the SHSU Alumni Association. She is Managing Partner of Pollard Development, L.P. and has lived in Bellaire since 1992 with her husband, Randy D. Pollard, CPA, who served four years as chairman of the Board of Adjustment for the City of Bellaire, as well as the Sunset Review Committee.
During Trisha's career in the natural gas industry, she was Assistant General Counsel at Kinder Morgan, Inc.; Vice President – Legal & Human Resources at PennUnion Energy Services; and Sr. Attorney at Transco Gas Marketing Company. Prior to that, she was Manager, Gas Purchases and held other business positions at Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Corporation.
Trisha has served six terms on the Harris County Grand Jury and as its Foreman for five terms. She is a Presbyterian Elder and a member of First Presbyterian Church, Houston. She also serves on three Houston Bar Association committees, was Chair of the Oil & Gas Section of the HBA, and is a member of the State Bar of Texas.
Trisha is originally from Premont, Texas, received her BBA from Sam Houston State University and while working full-time, received her J.D. from South Texas College of Law in Houston. She and Randy have two sons, both of whom achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, and a daughter who lives in Bellaire and has served Precinct 128 as an election worker during several elections.
