Meet Brittany Rene and Melodie Sun, Plans Examiners in the Development Services department.
Brittany and Melodie are responsible for reviewing and ensuring new and redeveloped structures comply with floodplain rules and regulations – a very important task since drainage and flood mitigation are high priorities in Bellaire. A big part of this is helping customers understand how to meet these regulations. At the end of the day, one project at a time, it makes the City safer and more resilient and helps maintain the residents’ flood insurance discounts through FEMA’s Community Rating System (CRS) program.
