[ARCHIVED] TRAFFIC ALERT: Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) has the following closure Alert:

US 59 Southwest Freeway/IH 610 West Loop Interchange Closures Scheduled for this Weekend Motorists Should Expect Delays in the Area and are Encouraged to Find Alternate Routes

HOUSTON -- There are closures scheduled for the US 59 Southwest Freeway/ IH 610 West Loop Interchange for this weekend. Motorists will likely experience significant delays and should consider an alternate route if possible.

Starting Friday, May 6 at 9 p.m. until 5 a.m., Monday, May 9 there will be a total closure of the IH 610 West Loop northbound connector ramp to US 59 Southwest Freeway northbound and southbound.

All traffic destined to US 59 Southwest Freeway northbound and southbound from IH 610 West Loop northbound will be detoured to the Westheimer St. exit. Motorists can then u-turn at Westheimer to IH 610 West Loop southbound frontage road to the entrance ramp to US 59 Southwest Freeway northbound and southbound.
Also, the following closures will begin starting on Friday, May 6 at 9 p.m. until 5 a.m., Monday, May 9:

Three lanes of the US 59 Southwest Freeway southbound from Kirby Dr. to IH 610 West Loop closed. One lane will remain open.
The IH 610 West Loop northbound entrance ramp from Bissonnet plus two right lanes between Bissonnet and US 59 Southwest Freeway will be closed. Traffic destined to IH 610 West Loop northbound mainlanes should proceed to the next available entrance.
The closures will allow crews to perform bridge-deck repairs and preventative maintenance for the direct connector from the IH 610 northbound mainlanes to the US 59 Southwest Freeway northbound and southbound mainlanes as well as for the direct connector from the IH 610 northbound mainlanes to the US 59 Southwest Freeway southbound mainlanes.
