[ARCHIVED] Possible Scam - Fraudulent Calls Notice

On 08/23/12 a Bellaire resident received a phone call from someone claiming to be a Federal Inspector. The person stated they would have agents in the area conducting roof inspections and wanted to see if the resident would be home tomorrow. The resident stated they were not comfortable providing that information and they did not want anyone coming to their residence. The person stated they did not have a choice and someone would be on location tomorrow because it was a new federal regulated mandate. The resident stated she was calling the police and the person then hung up.

We researched the number and it comes back to an LLC out of Apollo, Texas. Upon contacting the number it states this number has not been set up to receive calls.

The Bellaire Police Department would like to remind residents to not give out any information over the phone.
