Records Management/Departmental Records

The City Clerk is designated as the public records management officer of the City of Bellaire, as provided for by the Local Government Records Act of 1989 (Chapter 2, Administration, Article V, Records Management, Section 2-70, Records management officer, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Bellaire, Texas).

On May 24, 1999, the City Clerk’s Office filed a “Declaration of Compliance with the Records Scheduling Requirement of the Local Governmental Records Act” form (Form SLR 508) with the Texas State Library and Archives Commission. This declaration confirmed that the City of Bellaire had adopted records control schedules that adhere to the minimum requirements set by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission for use in the City’s records management program. The Texas State Library and Archives Commission officially accepted the form on May 28, 1999, validating the City's commitment to proper records management.
