On August 19, 2024, the Bellaire City Council unanimously voted to hold a bond election on November 5, 2024. If passed, the additional revenue from the bond will fund the improvements below.
Proposition A - Drainage Facilities and Improvements - $40 Million
Bellaire’s contribution to the $110 million Cypress Ditch flood mitigation project
Increases stormwater conveyance capacity
Facilitates future upstream improvements
Includes land swap with City of Houston to obtain land for detention
